Crochet Baby Hat

Hi, I am back with another tutorial so here it is :
Crochet Baby Hat :

Start at the top of the hat by making 4 chain stitches. Make a slip stitch through both loops of the first chain. This will form a ring.

For Round 1, make two chain stitches, then work 13 double crochets into the middle of the ring, like so: Put your hook through both loops of the first double crochet and make a slip stitch to join. You will have 13 stitches. Note here that the beginning chain 2 of this row is not counted as a stitch.

Round 2: Chain 2, do not turn your work around. Continue crocheting in the same direction until instructed to turn. Make 2 double crochets into each stitch around the circle and join with a slip stitch into the first double crochet, just as you did in the previous round. You will have 26 stitches .

Round 3: Chain 2, then make 1 double crochet in the first stitch, 2 double crochets in the next stitch, 1 double crochet in the next stitch. Continue around the circle making 2 double crochets, then 1 double crochet, ending with 2 double crochets for a total of 39 stitches. Join as before.

Round 4: Chain 2, then make 1 double crochet in each of the next 2 stitches, then 2 double crochets in the next stitch. Continue around the circle making 1, then 1, then 2, and join as before. You will have 52 stitches .

Round 5: Chain 2, then work 1 double crochet in each stitch around and join as before. You will still have 52 stitches .

Repeat Round 5 until you have 13 rounds total. Now it's starting to look like a hat!

Round 14: Chain 2 and turn your work around. Make 1 double crochet in each stitch around and join as before.

Rounds 15 and 16: Chain 2, do not turn work. Make 1 double crochet in each stitch around and join as before. You will still have 52 stitches .

Round 17 (edging): Do not turn work. Chain 1, then make one single crochet in the first stitch. Continue around doing 1 chain, then 1 single crochet, 1 chain, then 1 single crochet without skipping any stitches in the previous row. This will make a little bump between each single crochet. Join with a slip stitch in the first single crochet. You will have a nice decorative edge on the hat. Cut your yarn and pull the tail through the loop on the hook and tighten to make a knot. Weave the loose ends into a few stitches. Turn up the cuff made by the last 3 rows of double crochet being done in the opposite direction from the rest of the hat. Now you have yourself a cozy little infant hat.

Slanted Shell Pattern

Row 11. Chain a multiple of five stitches plus two. For example, if you were making a pattern with seven shells in each row, chain 37 stitches.
2. Insert hook into the third chain from it and make three double crochet stitches.
3. Skip three chains.
4. Single crochet in the next chain.
5. Chain three.
6. Make three double crochet stitches in the next chain.
7. Repeat Steps 3 through 6 until you reach the end of the base chain. Turn.
Row 2 And The Following Rows
1. Chain four.
2. Make three double crochet stitches in the third chain from the hook.
3. Single crochet in the chain three space. Skip over the three double crochet stitches and insert your hook in the space created by the chain. When you do this, you are making a stitch over or around the chain, not in it.
4. Chain three.
5. Make three double crochet stitches in the same chain three space as the single crochet.
6. Repeat Step 3 through 5 until the end of the row. Repeat Row 2 until you reach the desired length.

Crochet Square
Ch 6. Join with a sl st to form a ring.
When working crochet in rounds, 3 chain stitches are often used as a substitute for the first double crochet stitch in a round; that is the case here. In the first round, the double crochet stitches are worked inside the ring. In subsequent rounds, the double crochet stitches are worked inside the spaces previously formed by chain stitches.
Ch. 3, 2 dc, ch 2, (3 dc, ch 2) 3 times, sl st to join to the 3rd chain stitch from foundation loop.
Work 3 sl sts so that your crochet hook is adjacent to the space formed by the closest set of chain sts. Ch 3, 2 dc in space, ch 2 to form corner, 3 dc in same space, ch 2, (3 dc in next space, ch 2 to form corner, 3 dc in same space, ch 2) 3 times, sl st to join to the 3rd chain stitch you crocheted at the beginning of the round.

You can continue adding as many rounds as you want to your granny square. Each subsequent round will follow the same basic procedures used in the preceding rounds. You'll start with 3 chain stitches substituting for the first double crochet. In the corners, you will work 2 sets of 3 double crochet stitches separated by 2 chain stitches. Otherwise, you will work 3 double crochet stitches in each space, separated by 2 chain stitches on either side.
Here's Round Five of the Crocheted Granny Square. You Can Keep Adding Rounds Until You Have the Amount You Want.
